The Zim dollar has now lost 61 percent since the beginning of the year.

THE Zimbabwe dollar lost 11,12 percent against the US$ this week on the central bank’s currency auction system to trade at US$1:290,88ZWL.

The domestic unit, which had stabilised in 2021 on account of a tight monetary targeting framework, has now lost 61 percent since the beginning of the year.

This comes as business member organisations say there is still room for improvement to the auction system, which has in the past been dogged by allotment delays.
