
ZIMBABWE’S industrial capacity utilisation rose to 66 percent in the fourth quarter to December 31 2021, up from 65 percent in the third quarter, a Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency (Zimstat) survey said today.
The drinks, tobacco, and beverages’ industry group recorded the highest capacity utilisation of 79 percent, while the food stuffs category followed at 69 percent. Other manufactured products’ groups had the least utilisation of 15 percent.
“40 percent of survey respondents showed more optimism towards the general business climate compared to the last three months,” Matiwonesa Phiri, Zimstat director, production statistics said.
