
THE value of transactions processed through the National Payments System (NPS) declined by 4,90 percent to $239,81 billion during the week ending April 22 from $251,81 billion in the preceding week, the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) has said.
In its latest weekly economic highlights, RBZ said Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) transactions declined by 3,46 percent to $209,62 billion during the same week. NPS transaction values were distributed as follows: RTGS, 87,53 percent; POS, 7,21 percent; Mobile, 4,56 percent and ATM, 0,70 percent.
NPS transaction volumes registered a decline of 9,06 percent to $20,08 million during the week under review.
The distribution of the NPS transaction volumes was mobile, 80,41 percent; POS, 18,23 percent; ATM, 0,43 percent and RTGS, 0,92 percent.
