
THE value of transactions processed through the National Payment Systems (NPS) stood at $251,81 billion, during the week ending April 14, a 5,28 percent decrease from $265,85 billion recorded in the previous week, latest figures from the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) show.
In its latest weekly economic update, the apex bank said Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) transactions fell by 4,49 percent, from $227,3 billion in the previous week to $217,1 billion, during the week under analysis.
The NPS transaction values were distributed as follows: RTGS, 86,23 percent; POS, 8,76 percent; Mobile, 4,43 percent and ATM, 0,58 percent.
NPS transaction volumes registered a decline of 2.93 percent to close at 22 million transactions, from 22,7 million transactions recorded in the previous week. The NPS transaction volumes were distributed as follows: Mobile, 77,84 percent; POS, 20,80 percent; ATM, 0,44 percent and RTGS, 0,92 percent.
