THE value of transactions processed through the National Payment System (NPS) declined to $186, 8 billion, during the week ending February 25 from $205,4 billion in the previous week, latest figures show.

According to an update from the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ), Real Time Gross Settlement transactions were 10,63 percent lower, at $160,27 billion during the period under review.

“The NPS transaction values were distributed as follows: RTGS, 85,79 percent, POS, 8,50 percent; Mobile, five percent; and ATM, 0,71 percent,” said RBZ.

“The transaction volumes were dominated by Mobile based transactions at 79,48 percent of the total, followed by POS, 18,71 percent; RTGS, 1,20 percent; and ATM, 0,61 percent,” RBZ said.
