
THE value of transactions processed through the National Payment System (NPS) declined to $186,8 billion for the week ended February 25, 2022 from $205,4 billion prior week.
According to the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe’s (RBZ) latest weekly economic review, Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) transactions were 10,6 percent lower, at $160.27 billion.
“The NPS transaction values were distributed as follows: RTGS, 85,79 percent, POS, 8,50 percent; Mobile, 5.00 percent; and ATM0,71 percent,” RBZ said.
NPS transaction volumes decreased by 0,07 percent to close at $20,53 million during the week under review.
“The transaction volumes were dominated by mobile-based transactions at 79,48 percent, followed by POS18,71 percent; RTGS 1,20 percent and ATM 0,61 percent,” RBZ said.
