THE Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) is targeting to increase revenue collections from the estimated 35 000 small to medium enterprises (SME) in Zimbabwe.
Speaking at a Tax Review indaba hosted by The Financial Gazette, in partnership with the authority and the Zimbabwe Institute of Tax Accountants, on Friday, Zimra acting commissioner general, Regina Chinamasa said this would anchor efforts to increase revenue collections.
“Going forward, efforts are underway to improve the tax framework for SMEs and provide practice notes to guide taxpayers in general,” she said.
She said this will ensure more businesses, especially in the largely informal SMEs sector, contribute towards the country’s revenue collections.
